Yes darling, you do have to sort the garbage

Feeling caught between a planet in crisis and your old school man? For Earth Day, we’re sharing our top tips to reduce your guy’s carbon footprint.

Yes, of course he can still use the laundry detergent his mom used during his childhood that is bright blue, full of phosphates, and comes in a huge plastic container. But only when he does the laundry, which in all fairness, will be at least twice a year. Plus, when his favorite detergent runs out, just replace it with eco-friendly detergent and add some food coloring!

Sausage Rolls

It’s nearly Christmaaaaassss! And we’ve saved the best for last. The main event. The delicacy that no British Christmas would be complete without. So versatile that it can be a snack, a side, or a meal in itself. It can be made for meat lovers or vegetarians. It comes in a variety of sizes, from bite-size to foot-long, and in its standard size, it can be surreptitiously eaten on public transport.

This dish is so beloved by Brits, that you can reliably find one in every grocery store or bakery in the UK. In fact, the British high street bakery…

Yorkshire Puddings hot and fresh out of the oven. Hello, my darlings!

Yorkshire Puddings are my absolute favorite. I have been known to eat a full dozen in one sitting. Yes, really.

The name can be confusing for non-Brits because neither are they:

a) A dessert or sweet like a Sticky Toffee or Christmas pudding

b) Steamed like a traditional sweet British pudding

c) The soft creamy-sweet dessert that American’s call pudding, but in the UK we’d call Blancmange or Angel Delight.

A Yorkshire Pudding is a baked savory dish made from batter, that forms into a cup shape while baking, making it perfect to pour gravy into (I know it’s not…

Christmas pudding is traditionally served aflame.

It’s time for Nanna’s Christmas pudding! Not time to eat it, but time to make it so that it has a few weeks to “ripen” — in the cellar, larder, or if you want to be modern day about it, the fridge — and be full of flavor for the big day, December 25!

But won’t they go bad if I make them now and then eat them in three weeks, I hear you ask?! Oh ye of little faith. …

Bubble and Squeak

Christmas is normally a time to be with family, but this year my plans to visit the UK are cancelled. Lamenting that the joy of sharing my holiday cooking was also cancelled, I had an epiphany! I can still share my holiday cooking with you, my social family.

A cooking perfectionist, I am not. I like to wing it and have a “choose your own adventure” experience. While I’ll give you options to go your own way with these dishes, I also invite you to explore, have fun with them yourself!

We saw it coming over the last couple of decades as this former celebrity power-couple was seen together in public less frequently and appeared to be on diverging career paths. The GOP was spending more time seeking adulation from a small group of mega-fans, while Democracy kept her focus on representative government.

Sources close to the couple who spoke under condition of anonymity told us: “The GOP felt like Democracy cared more about the will of the people than she did about his success.”

Another said: “Democracy just didn’t feel like she needed to say she only counted ‘legal’ votes…
