It’s nearly Christmaaaaassss! And we’ve saved the best for last. The main event. The delicacy that no British Christmas would be complete without. So versatile that it can be a snack, a side, or a meal in itself. It can be made for meat lovers or vegetarians. It comes in a variety of sizes, from bite-size to foot-long, and in its standard size, it can be surreptitiously eaten on public transport.

This dish is so beloved by Brits, that you can reliably find one in every grocery store or bakery in the UK. In fact, the British high street bakery chain, Greggs, sells 140 million of them a year! And if that wasn’t enough of an homage to this meat and pastry treat, the last two Christmas number one hit singles in the UK (and probably this year’s too) have been about… yes, you guessed it, SAUSAGE ROLLS!!!

To get us in the mood, here’s the 2018 UK Christmas number one single by mum and dad duo, LadBaby: We Built This City on Sausage Rolls

“If you’ve never had one
And don’t recognize the taste…
